Advise the Mayor and City Council on issues relating to the well-being and the economic prosperity of the Latinx community living in Elkhart, IN.

Deliver specific recommendations and create annual traditions on well-being and economic prosperity by leveraging the council’s expertise and stewarding a comprehensive process that assesses the priorities of the Latinx community.

Every year deliver a report with various accomplishments and recommendations on each of the selected priorities that promote the Latinx economic prosperity and well-being. The recommendations will suggest metrics to measure the effects of such recommendations.

– Entity to connect and represent the local Latinx community to local government.

 –  Empower the Elkhart Latinx community to stay and engage in Elkhart, versus going to neighboring cities.

 – Create an explicit pipeline of Latinx leaders into/onto city decisions/design.

– An entity the local Latinx community can take their concerns and voice their opinions to in terms of local government commitments.

– Entity that will partner with local law enforcement.

– Connect with other councils/advisory groups to collaborate and/or support.
